Alluring, Refined & Chic: the Atlanta Ritz-Carlton






As my son prepares to enter his senior year of high school this summer, we embarked on a series of college tours, including visits to GA Tech and Morehouse College in Atlanta, GA. During our trip, we had the pleasure of staying at the Atlanta Ritz-Carlton, perfectly located in the heart of downtown, just 10-15 minutes from each college we visited.

Upon arrival, it was clear the hotel was bustling with activity, likely hosting a convention, yet we were treated as if we were the only guests. The valet service greeted us with warm smiles, swiftly took our luggage, and offered us cold bottles of water—a thoughtful touch, especially in the hot Atlanta weather. Nica at the front desk provided exceptional service, and our chauffeurs, Mr. Wallace and Fred made getting to our local destinations effortless.

We encountered a minor issue in our bathroom, but it was promptly addressed by a helpful engineer as soon as I brought it to her attention. Every staff member's attentiveness and genuine care made our stay truly enjoyable.

The Ritz-Carlton is renowned for its exemplary customer service, and the Atlanta location exceeded our expectations. The hotel is a blend of style and elegance, with luxurious and comfortable accommodations. Our room featured everything we needed, including a 55" HDTV, iPod docking station, mini-bar, mini fridge, and a coffee/tea maker. The marble bathroom was equally impressive, complete with a shower, lighted makeup mirror, hair dryer, plush robes, and slippers.

During our stay, we had the opportunity to dine at all three of the Ritz's dining options. AG, Modern Bar, and Steakhouse offered delicious meals, with Saturday brunch standing out as a highlight, thanks to its variety of tasty options. The Lumen Lounge provided a cozy spot for a quick snack, while Jittery Joe's Coffee Bar delivered outstanding service, even during busy times, making it perfect for a grab-and-go breakfast sandwich or cup of coffee.

If you're planning a stay in downtown Atlanta and seeking a relaxing, pampered experience, I highly recommend the Atlanta Ritz-Carlton. The only thing that could have enhanced my stay further would have been a touch of lavender. When traveling, it's sometimes hard to fully unwind in a new environment, even when it's as plush as the Ritz. I always carry lavender pillow spray with me, but it would have been the perfect finishing touch if the hotel had included this in their offerings.

Vacationing in Virginia - Lansdowne Resort

During May 3rd-5th, 2024, my sorority sisters and I had a reunion weekend that was nothing short of magical. Some of us hadn't seen each other in over 30 years, and we traveled from several states to be together. Given my penchant for upscale accommodations, I was initially hesitant about staying at an "airport hotel."
